About
Our stunning clay lined carp lake has been around for 25 years and is currently stocked with 41 high quality carp, these are a mix of original fish that have grown through in the lake over the years, some that have been sourced and stocked from the excellent VS Fisheries and Hams Hall, and in recent years fish that have been gown onsite in our stock pond and then stocked into Station. Included in the stock are 23 known 20lb+ fish with the majority of the remaining stock ranging from mid doubles upwards. We expect there to be two to three 30lb+ fish this coming year.
Station has 8 swims spanning 2 acres of water, peg 2 has excellent wheelchair access and parking close by. Predominantly a hard clay bottom, depths range from 4ft-6ft with firmer clay areas and softer sily areas found throughout the lake. With three islands, lily pads and some lovely margins that the fish love to patrol, there is an abundance of features to fish to in every swim.
Despite living in a relatively small lake these fish are masters of there own environment and you’ll need to angle at the best of your ability to outwit them: the most consistent tactics include stalking in the edge and setting small traps for one bite at a time. During the summer months though they do love there bait so don’t be scared to put a bit in. A high qualiy freezer boilie such as Sticky Baits Krill, our house pellet and one of our particle mixes is the perfect mix, all of which can purchased in the onsite tackle shop.
Fishing accurately with the use of a baiting pole or bait boat is recommended.
