Closing On November 17th 2024

As we approach our 20 year anniversary, we have some BIG news!

We as a family have made the tough and enforced decision to close down four of the five lakes on November 17th 2024. The lakes that will be closing will be the three match/pleasure lakes (Ben’s, Dragon & Brook) along with Oak (Intermediate Carp Lake). We would like to confirm that Station will be remaining open but with some changes that will be announced at a later date.

We appreciate this will be a shock to most but over the past four years, first with Covid and the lockdowns, followed by the ongoing HS2 work, the fishery is unfortunately no longer a viable business. As you all know we’ve put a hell of a lot of work into the complex over the past 20 years, we’re proud of where it is now, and so many of our customers and friends love it here. Unfortunately for us the fishing industry has not moved forward with the world financially, by that we mean with high inflation over the years, ticket prices haven’t really followed that trend.
With that said, we will be closing the fishery in November (exact date to be confirmed) This will be the full closure of all of the lakes at first with Station then being the only lake to re-open at a later date once the previously mentioned amendments have been made.

The Tackle Shop will also be closing and we will have an exact closing date in the near future. Unfortunately with the arrival of a rather large tackle shop just 10 minutes away, it has unfortunately hurt this side of the business dramatically. Not only that but we used to do a lot online but that market has also became extremely saturated and it seems to be a race to the bottom regarding pricing rather then the other way around, hence why you are seeing so many of your local tackle shops closing down. This will unfortunately be a trend that will continue so please do support your local independent tackle shop as these will often be family run business that have been around for many years, similar to what ours was.

The Cafe will be remaining open as usual.

Going forward we will still be on-site the fishery, and have alternative plans for the future.

If you have any matches or bookings for 2025 we’ll be in touch over the next week.

Finally we will like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you that has ever visited us over the past 20 years, we will be forever grateful for supporting us as a business and a family… we look forward to seeing you all before the closure in November.

Hi Martin, it isn’t no. The only lake staying open going forward will be our specimen lake Station.

      Kind regards
